Working together across the region to unlock opportunities for a thriving and successful Taranaki.

The Tapuae Roa: Make Way for Taranaki project is a collaborative effort between New Plymouth District Council, South Taranaki District Council, Stratford District Council, Taranaki Regional Council, Venture Taranaki, local business leaders, iwi and central government (MBIE).

The project takes on a whole-of-region approach and focuses on unlocking the best opportunities for regional economic growth and the on-going success of the region.

A lead team made up of representatives from local businesses and organisations, iwi and central and local government were responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the project.

The Tapuae Roa Strategy was launched in August 2017 and identified a long list of potential opportunities to help form a regional action plan. This Action Plan was released in April 2018.
